Anyone know if felted wool will carry a static electricity buildup?
Maybe I don't feel so smug after all.

Alas - it will indeed. Animal fiber + plastic = static electricity. (Just as when you rub a balloon on your hair in grade school science class.)
But not to worry, a simple silk or cotton lining will solve the problem.
